Abstract
Patellar tendon rupture is rare, but very severe lesion. Usually, primary repair with nonabsorbable suture material is used in acute patellar tendon rupture. We experienced the extension lag of the knee joint that occurred after primary repair of the acute patellar tendon rupture. So, we did an augmentation of the patellar tendon with a semitendinosus allograft.
This procedure could provide improvement of the extension lag after primary repair and early rehabilitation. We had a satisfactory result after patellar tendon augmentation with a semitendinosus allograft to resolve partial functional deficiency and the extension lag that occurred after primary patellar tendon repair and report this case with literature review.
